Welcome

Enter Sunnie's enchanting world of Christmas and Halloween folk art collectibles.

What a great February! It's going by so fast! I had a wonderful time at the Vermont Hand Crafter's Holiday Show at the Sheraton Hotel, Burlington, Vermont, in November and am working and planning for the 2008 show already! It will be held November 20-23rd in 2008.

It is always a beautiful show and almost all of my Santas go to new homes! Rugs find their way to new owners too and I am so pleased that people are appreciating the artistry that goes into these "paintings with wool". All of us who are artists or craftspeople are thankful to those who purchase a piece of art to celebrate home and family instead of settling for something plastic! We hope our creations will be passed down and enjoyed by many family members.

I was happy to participate again this year in the Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild's 2007 show at the Shelburne Museum November 9th through the 18th. I had 2 new rugs in the show which can be seen on my Vermont Rug Hooker's Diary Blog. I was pleased to have three rugs at the Studio Place Art Gallery in Barre, Vermont for their 2006 show, "Fine Art of Craft".
It has been fun to see my rugs in the "Hooked in the Mountains" books presenting rugs in earlier Green Mountain Guild shows. I had five rugs pictured, three in one book and two in the other.

I recently juried into the Northeast Kingdom Artisans Guild and have hooked rugs & chairpads in their beautiful Gallery in downtown St Johnsbury, Vermont. If you have a chance to visit you will find wonderful work from many artists there!

I really love Winter. Not only because the snow here in Vermont is so beautiful, but also because it is so peaceful to sit and hook or do other needlework beside the fire. I am having a great time designing and hooking new rugs...and I can't seem to hook fast enough to do all the designs I want to do! I am also experimenting with dying wool yarns as well as wool fabric.

Happy February & March! Stay warm!
